On October 10, 2026, we’re releasing the first public demo of LOOK INSIDE, our cooperative board game about mental health. For the first time, people beyond our previous testing groups will be able to experience the game, either online or at selected locations and events.
We chose October 10 for a reason: it’s World Mental Health Day. And we can hardly imagine a better day to take this next step!
After more than three years of development, countless hours of work and over 200 people testing the game, we’re excited to share LOOK INSIDE with a much wider audience.
What is LOOK INSIDE?
Can a board game help us understand mental health and the people around us better?
That’s the question that started our journey.
LOOK INSIDE is a cooperative, story-driven board game that combines exciting stories, intriguing puzzles and psychology. Players explore the inner world of a fictional character. Together, they uncover hidden connections, follow clues and discover what might be going on beneath the surface. It feels a little like being detectives inside the main character’s mind.
As the story unfolds, players encounter everyday situations, make decisions and explore different perspectives. Along the way, they gain insights into psychological processes and the challenges people may face.
The game brings together entertainment, empathy and knowledge about mental health. It also creates opportunities for conversations that might otherwise be difficult to start.
And there’s no need for any previous knowledge of psychology or for players to share their own personal experiences.
From over 200 test players to our first public demo
We’ve been working on LOOK INSIDE for more than three years. During that time, we’ve played with more than 200 people, including board game enthusiasts, psychologists and people with very different backgrounds.
Their reactions and feedback have helped us continuously improve the game and motivated us to keep going, despite the many obstacles along the way.
Another important milestone was a scientific pilot study examining LOOK INSIDE. The initial results have been encouraging and have given us additional motivation to continue developing this approach (more on that soon).
Now we’re ready for the next step: opening the demo to a broader public.
Until now, most people have experienced LOOK INSIDE during organized testing sessions and events. With the public demo, we want to find out how people respond when they discover the game at events, in selected places such as cafés, or online.
We’re especially curious about their impressions, what they enjoy and whether they’d like to experience the full game.
Why this release means so much to us
For us, October 10 is a particularly important milestone.
Over the past three years, we’ve invested an enormous amount of time, energy and our own savings into developing LOOK INSIDE. We strongly believe in the potential of combining the fun of board games with meaningful insights into mental health.
The feedback we’ve received so far has been encouraging. At the same time, turning an idea like this into a published board game comes with considerable challenges.
Developing a physical product takes resources, especially when the topic is mental health and its impact can be difficult to measure.
That’s why this public demo is so important for our next steps.
We want to understand how much interest there is in LOOK INSIDE. How many people would like to buy and play the full game? How many will join our waitlist? And are there organizations, publishers or other partners who see the potential to bring LOOK INSIDE to more people?
These are questions that will help us decide how quickly we can move toward publishing the full game and what resources we can dedicate to its development.
One thing is certain: we want to bring the complete game to life.
And now we’re inviting you to become part of this journey.
Play LOOK INSIDE online – wherever you are!
We know that many people who are interested in LOOK INSIDE live too far away to visit us at events.
So we wanted to make sure they could experience the game, too.
That’s why we’re making the demo available online! It will allow people to explore LOOK INSIDE from their own homes and get a first impression of how the board game works.
We are preparing the online demo in three languages: German, English and Polish.
The German version will be released first, on October 10, 2026, with English and Polish following soon after.
We’ll share access details and instructions when the demo launches. Follow us on Instagram, Facebook or LinkedIn!
Where can you play LOOK INSIDE in person?
Of course, LOOK INSIDE started as a physical board game, and we love seeing people gather around a table, solve puzzles together and discover the story.
That’s why we’ll also be presenting the demo at several upcoming events. At some selected locations, it will additionally be available for visitors to explore independently.
Here are the currently planned opportunities:
- October 15 – Fantasy Colosseum, Heidelberg: Meet us at a board game evening and try LOOK INSIDE.
- October 22–25 – SPIEL Essen: Find us at the world’s largest public board game fair, in Hall 2, Booth 2C120.
- Frankfurt: The demo will be available at a selected location. More details will follow.
- November 24 – SmartX Health, Freiburg: Discover LOOK INSIDE at this health-focused event.
- November 30 – Marktplatz Prävention, Stuttgart: Meet us and learn more about our playful approach to mental health.
Want to help us take the next step?
There are several ways you can support LOOK INSIDE, and every one of them matters to us.
Try the demo. Whether online or in person, experience the game and tell us what you think. We’re genuinely interested in your feedback.
Join our waitlist. If you’d like to see the full board game published, joining the waitlist helps us understand how much interest there is.
Help us connect with potential partners. We’re looking for people and organizations who share our vision of making mental health more accessible through playful experiences. If you work in psychology, education, mental health, the board game industry or a related field, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re excited, a little nervous and very curious about what comes next.
October 10 is coming. We hope you’ll be part of it! 💛
